We continually test our IDEA carbon wheels and explore their limits. Demanding customers put them through tough conditions and help us push those limits further. Honza was one of those customers, taking IDEA wheels to a challenging Mallorca training camp. What did he think?

In autumn 2021, I was looking for new wheels for my S-WORKS SL7. After unsuccessful attempts with other suppliers, I chose IDEA CALOBRA ULTRA with CeramicSpeed bearings. This spring I took them to a Mallorca camp and added another 1,000 km. They are really good and look great on the bike. The 45 mm front and 55 mm rear combination works well.

A traditionalist might say that my request for a 45 mm front rim and 55 mm rear rim was outside the usual specification; even Ondra Rybín, Rafkarna's owner, thought so. Nevertheless, Rafkarna accommodated it expertly. The carbon wheels suit the bike and ride comfortably, safely and precisely in crosswinds. Flat aero carbon spokes tensioned to 140 kg reinforce the overall stiffness. I would recommend better rim tape, though. After about 1,000 km, the rear inner tube started losing air. I replaced three inner tubes before having the tape replaced, which solved the problem. That was Honza's assessment of the IDEA wheels.
